Reading guidance:

Differences of smelting materials between brown corundum and white corundum:

The main raw materials for smelting brown corundum are: bauxite, coke (anthracite)

The main raw material for smelting white corundum is industrial alumina powder

Applicatio of brown corundum and white corundum:

Brown corundum is mainly used for: grinding wheel, sandblasting, free grinding, resin grinding tools, coated grinding tools, functional filler, filter media, refractory materials

White corundum is mainly used in ceramic manufacturing, resin-bonded abrasive tools, sandblasting, polishing, grinding, precision casting and advanced refractory materials

The difference between brown and white corundum densities:

In the current national standards, the density of brown corundum and white corundum are: F4 (P12) to F220P (220) is not less than 3.90g/cm3, and F220P (220) is not less than 3.85g/cm3.In practical use, the index often used to judge the quality of corundum is generally the alumina content, particle size and hardness of corundum, and the density of corundum is rarely mentioned, while the density of general abrasive has both packing density and true density. The bulk density is measured after corundum particles fill a container, while the true density is measured in the vacuum state. Below, we use the bulk density and the true density of white corundum in the state of 44%~55% basic particle size as an example:

Bulk density of white corundum: 1.53~1.99g/cm3, mass of white corundum/container volume (including voids)

True density of white corundum: 3.95~4.0g/cm3, white corundum mass/container volume (excluding pore volume)
