The biggest historical significance of the tax reform is that it has broken the comprehensive personal income tax reform system and laid a solid foundation for promoting the construction of the modern individual tax system.

     The State Council recently issued the "Interim Measures for the Special Deduction of Individual Income Taxes" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"), which will take effect on January 1, 2019. 

    The "Measures" clarify the principle of 6 special additional deductions for children's education, continuing education, major illness treatment, housing loan interest or housing rent, maintenance of the elderly, and the deduction range, deduction standard, deduction method and safeguard measures of 6 special additional deductions.
